UX Design Awards: The Tympa System receives nomination
We’re excited to announce that TympaHealth
has been nominated for the UX Design Awards 2020.
The awards are an international competition for outstanding user experience, organised by the International Design Centre Berlin and with a formidable previous winners list including: Philips and GE Healthcare. We are very proud as this is a global competition focussed on the positive impact of people-centric solutions, concepts and research.
The TympaHealth system cleverly adds relevance to everyday smartphone technology by adding additional functionality. Starting from a simple procedure, wax removal, this solution also enables diagnosis and treatment of other causes of hearing loss. The system pioneers access to care in different ways and connects patients to specialist in a seamless process. In addition it helps to deliver specialized care to remote areas without access to medical specialists.

Half a billion people worldwide suffer hearing loss. Despite it being the biggest modifiable risk factor for prevention of dementia, more complex conditions often get priority. Hearing can be improved by simple wax removal, allowing diagnosis and treatment of other causes of hearing loss. Access to care is disjointed with patients being passed between different specialists. The Tympa system brings the clinic to the community, providing everyone with access to comprehensive, affordable ear care.
