The Tympa system comprises:

  1. A native application available in iOS and Android versions, which enables hearing clinicians to manage appointments and patients, perform treatments and hearing tests.
  2. A WebApp that provides administrative and monitoring capabilities.

The TympaHealth System is the responsibility of Tympa Health Technologies Ltd.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use the Tympa app, which means being able to:

  • Use different screen sizes
  • Get alt text for images
  • Correct content sequencing
  • Consistent navigation
  • Appropriate labels
  • Zoom within device settings
  • Resize text
  • No content that relies solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, size, visual location, orientation, or sound.
  • Descriptive links
  • Heading hierarchies for content pages
  • Video captions, transcriptions and audio descriptions in content pages
  • Use any content types or features that have been optimised such as accordions, slideshow/carousels, tables and tabs.

We aim for no restrictions for:

  • Deaf users
  • Limited hearing users
  • Non-verbal users
  • Limited manipulation users
  • Limited reach and strength users
  • Cognitive user group

There are some restrictions for:

  • Users without vision

Current Accessibility Issues

iOS App

Colour and Contrast

Colour contrast combinations are present that pass minimum requirements, there are however some present that do not pass the 4.5:1 minimum ratio

Screen Reader

  • Reference numbers are read out as a whole number (e.g. 1000001E would be read out as “1 million and 1 E”)
  • On the longer forms the automatic scrolling to next section sometimes fails
  • On longer screens with grouping, on the first load screen reader says (for example) “rows 1 to 11 of 35” for the first visible group of fields.
  • The edit link symbol is read out “Single right-pointing angled quotation mark”
  • FAQ: First two images, the filename is read out

  • Headings commonly overspill top and left screen edges.
  • FAQ is not resized

We are working to achieve and maintain Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards, but it is not always possible for all our content to be accessible. Where content is not accessible, we will state a reason, warn users and offer alternatives.
