We spoke to Jordan Parker from Waves Ear Care, an optician in Bristol who has recently started delivering ear and hearing healthcare with TympaHealth.

How did you start your journey using the Tympa System?

A colleague of mine visited a trade show and saw the Tympa System. He recommended it as great business opportunity and after viewing the system and its features I decided to sign up.

What made our product or service stand out from other options?

The biggest selling point for me was the accredited training programme. I was able to onboard, train and start providing treatment relatively quickly.

How did you find the training provided by TympaHealth?

The training provided by TympaHealth was extremely informative. The online portal was easy to navigate and faultless. The face-to-face training was really important and a good insight into life with the Tympa System. Even after the training, I was still supported with any questions that I may have had.

What was your favourite aspect of the training service provided by TympaHealth?

My favourite aspect of the TympaHealth training program was the interaction with the Tympa panel after the face-to-face training course. The ability to practice otoscopy on real patients and get real time feedback was a great way to improve my confidence.

What has been your favourite thing about using the Tympa System?

My favourite thing about using the Tympa System is that I am making a difference to people’s lives. When people tell me after an appointment the improvement they feel, I find it very rewarding.

As someone who works in the optical sector, what methods have worked well when it comes to getting the word out about your new Tympa service?

For me the best method that has worked well so far is making sure that audiologists know about my service. That way I can be amongst the first referral to anybody that requires ear wax removal services.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to expand and offer home services so I can help people in the community that may struggle to get to an appointment as they are home-bound.

Any advice for others starting out on their Tympa journey?
The main piece of advice I would give to somebody starting out is that you will be surprised how much you learn from the training, and the support you are given throughout. Once the initial hurdles are overcome, the job is very rewarding.
