“Being able to offer this service to my community makes such a big difference and is so worthwhile!”

We spoke to Layla at Feeney’s Feet and Ear Care about her journey so far with Tympa and why as a Foot Health Practitioner, she decided to expand her care offering into ear and hearing health and why she focuses on domiciliary care.

How did you start your journey using Tympa?

I see a lot of patients with footcare needs and many of them were talking to me about the frustration they faced as they couldn’t get help with wax removal or ear conditions from the GP.

So I decided to see if there was a service I could offer to help my patients. I researched and discovered TympaHealth and knew straight away that I wanted to train with them to learn how to use the Tympa System and add this service to my business as we are mobile and out in the community.

How much demand has there been for the service?

Currently there is a lot of demand for this service, and I think it will only increase going forward.

What type of customer uses your service?

I have a wide range of customers. It ranges from younger to older clients. It’s great for people who are less able and find it difficult to get out to access care services. My service is mobile so I can bring treatment to them, helping them get the care they need. Providing domiciliary care to my patients is a great service.

What methods have worked well when it comes to getting the word out about your new Tympa service?

I mainly advertise using our Facebook business page Feeney’s Feet and Ear Care, we advertise in a local community magazine ‘Your Local Lincs’ which gets delivered monthly to our area.

What has been your experience with the training provided by Tympa?

The training provided by TympaHealth was amazing and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to expand their services.

What has been your favourite thing about using the Tympa device?

The ‘Remote Review’ feature is fantastic, being able to have ENT specialists and audiologists for assistance is such a reassurance. I have used this on several occasions, referring patients on to GP’s when needed, which has all been dealt with very quickly. It’s great to help patients get the care they need, faster.

I also love being able to show my patients the photos and videos!

Any advice for others starting out on their Tympa journey?

TympaHealth offer great support for people who might not traditionally deliver ear and hearing healthcare. I was nervous before, but the trainers really help put you at ease. Being able to offer this service to my community makes such a big difference and is so worthwhile.
